What does your typical work day involve?

I can work indoors or outdoors, new construction or maintenance, work alone or with others, travel for work to remote sites, 12 to 16 hour days, two weeks to 35 days straight through working

What do you love most about your profession? Why did you choose this career?

I love working with my hands, making things, feeling productive, i also love working outside and working on large job sites and of course the money

When did you realize you wanted to work in STEM?

After I did the Orientation to Trades and Technology program for women

What were your favorite subjects in school?

English, history, biology

What advice would you give girls, who are still in school, who might be considering a career like yours?

If you get an opportunity to try a trade or even to observe a trade, go for it, the best way to know if it's for you is experience what it's like

Why do we need more women in skilled trades and STEM?

Women are grossly underrepresented in the trades, we are also better tradespeople

Who was your role model? What about this person inspires you?

I would say myself because I work hard for everything, when I discovered welding I was very determined to do it

What do you do for fun? What are some of your hobbies/activities?

Spending time outdoors, travel
