Join the STEMforGIRLS Club

Wondering if a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Skilled Trades is right for you?

Join our STEMforGIRLS Club and find out!

Here’s are three ways for you to explore your interests and figure out your career options:

Hang out in the Digital Clubhouse

As a future Scientist, Technology specialist, Engineer, and Mathematician you need to connect with other people in your field.

Our digital clubhouse is the perfect place to do that.

Whether you have a few minutes after school or a whole Saturday to think, the STEMforGIRLS Clubhouse is there for you. You can connect with other students, like you, who are pursuing their interest in STEM; you can chat with professionals working in your field; and you can make the most of our online resources to explore the ins-and-outs of all kinds of STEM careers.

Our career specialists and STEM role models can help you with every step toward your future career -  from building a resume to building a robot; from researching post-secondary programs to applying for scholarships; from choosing high school courses to choosing a career.

Monthly Hands-On Activities at Home

While virtual explorations are a great start, trying some hands-on activities will give you even more information about the kinds of careers you might like to consider.

That’s another way that the STEMforGIRLS Club is here for you!

No matter where you live in Newfoundland and Labrador, you can take your explorations into the real world with our monthly hands-on activities.

Periodically, we’ll use good old-fashioned snail mail to send you a STEM kit that you can use, along with some household materials, to do some DIY experiments.

Don’t worry, you won’t have to figure it out on your own. Each kit comes with instructions and there will be follow-along support online.

Regional Events and Provincial Summer Summit

The third way to make the most of your STEMforGIRLS membership is to attend regional events and the provincial Summer Summit.

Meet up virtually with Club members from neighbouring communities for regional events, such as program and worksite tours, try-it-yourself activities!

STEMforGIRLS Club is a career exploration community delivered by Women in Resource Development (WRDC). STEMforGIRLS programs empower girls and gender-diverse youth across Newfoundland and Labrador with the information and self-confidence needed to pursue STEM careers.  WRDC would like to thank our sponsors for the financial support that allows us to offer STEMforGIRLS at no charge to participants.
