Special Event Permission Form

STEMforGIRLS special events provide hands-on learning and career exploration opportunities for *girls in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). All programming is provided free of charge thanks to the support of our sponsors. Further details of the special event should have been provided via email; please review. Please note that a guardian’s signature is required at the end of this form.

“Girls” refers to anyone who identifies as a girl and explicitly includes not only cis girls but also trans girls, anyone who identifies as non-binary, nonconforming and/or gender fluid; and anyone, irrespective of assigned gender at birth, gender identity and gender expression, who has experienced or is subject to experiencing discrimination based on identifying as a girl and/or being identified by others as a girl.

Participant Rules

• Cell phone use is prohibited during STEMforGIRLS programming unless a STEMforGIRLS coordinator advises.
• Cameras are not permitted unless advised by WRDC.
• Foul language will not be tolerated.
• Worksite tours require you to dress for safety. This includes (1) proper/sturdy footwear such as hikers, sturdy sneakers, or sturdy boots. No sandals / flip flops, high heels, slip-on shoes (flats), canvas shoes (fashion sneakers or boots) or open-toe shoes Or CSA-approved safety boots, if indicated, can be provided. (2) Long pants and no loose clothing; (3) Tie back long hair and remove jewelry; (4) All provided safety gear must be worn when advised.
• Visitors and guests are not permitted to visit, view, or attend STEMforGIRLS programming; this includes activities that may take place in a public venue.
• Smoking, alcohol, or other drugs will not be tolerated.
• Participants will be respectful of the rules outlined by worksite staff.
• Participants are expected to be on time and always advise their school’s educators of their whereabouts.
