What do you love most about your profession? Why did you choose this career?
I am a researcher. I have always been fascinated by Science from my early childhood. As long ago as I can remember I always used to have the question why and how about the natural world. This drags me to love what I do.
When did you realize you wanted to work in STEM or Skilled Trades?
Between 20-22.
Why do we need more women in STEM and Skilled Trades?
We need more women in STEM and skilled trades, how pertinent can innovation really be if we do not even take into consideration the needs of half of the population. We need to make scientific innovation accessible to everyone.
What does your typical workday involve? Can you work remotely? (indoors/outdoors, office/plant, travel time, teamwork/solo work)?
On weekdays I work 9-5 pm in the lab and after 5 pm I pick up my daughter at daycare and then she is there in my daily routine. ( cooking for family, feeding her, playing with her, reading storybooks and listening to her talks).
Who is your role model? What is it about this person that inspires you?
Marie Curie. She inspires me in many ways but the most important is her perseverance when she faced so many challenges in life.
What do you do for fun? What are some of your hobbies/activities?
I love Hiking, cooking, and playing badminton.
What advice would you give students who might be considering a career like yours? What advice would you have given your younger self?
Ask questions about anything or for everything and If you really like to find the answer search it and research it.
