Don't let people discount your opinion because you are from rural Newfoundland. I have an unmistakable accent, and grew up 200 km from the nearest Tim Hortons (aka the middle of nowhere). Growing up in a rural setting I often had to make do with what I had, and the ability to think outside the box has helped me immensely in the design field. Rural Newfoundlanders have a unique perspective on design, and in my opinion, one that is not heard enough! Also its ok to fail an exam, a course, or even a semester. It happens more often than you'd think! Learning from your mistakes and trying again is a success in itself.
